What does a first appointment look like?

Your first appointment is a free, no-pressure call with one of our patient advocates. It is not a medical consultation. It is simply a conversation. We will answer any questions you have about our process and programs, take a few minutes to understand your concerns, and explore which treatment plans best meet your needs. At the end of the call, if it feels like a good fit on both sides, we will work together to map out your next steps toward getting started.

Do I need a referral?

No referral needed. You can book a consultation directly through our site or by giving us a call.

What if I am not sure which treatment plan is right for me?

Accepted Answer

No problem at all. During your free introductory call, one of our patient advocates will take the time to understand what you are experiencing and walk you through the programs that might be the right fit. You do not need to come in with an answer. That is exactly what the conversation is for.

How quickly can I get an appointment?

Our goal is simple: get back to every new patient within 24 hours to schedule their introductory consultation, which is the first step to understanding how our services can benefit you.

How long until I notice results?

Accepted Answer

It depends entirely on the treatment. Some of our treatment plans will provide instant results, however, other treatment plans may take up to 90 days for results to become apparent. During your introductory consultation your patient advocate will be able to provide more detailed information.

What if the first treatment doesn't work?

We adjust. Initial plans are starting points, not final answers. If you are not responding as expected, your medical team will revisit dosing, explore alternative approaches, or dig deeper into the underlying causes. Treatment is an iterative process and that is why ongoing follow-up is built into every plan.

Is there a risk of dependency with any of your treatment plans?

Not all of our treatment plans carry a risk of dependency, and many carry none at all. For those that do, the risk varies by treatment and by individual. Our partnering licensed physicians adhere to all applicable rules, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to patient safety. Before you begin anything, your medical team will walk you through exactly what to expect so you can move forward with complete confidence in your decision.

Are the medications safe?

The therapies we recommend have well-established safety profiles. Every treatment plan is preceded by labs and a medical history review, and progress is monitored on an ongoing basis. The providers will talk through potential side effects before you start anything and are available to address health changes or concerns. No therapy is completely without risk, and your medical team will work with you to ensure the risk-benefit makes sense for you.

Is everything confidential?

Yes. Your records are protected under HIPAA, the same medical privacy standard used by hospitals and primary care offices. Consultations are private. We do not share information with anyone, including family members, employers, or your primary care provider, without your explicit consent.

How are medications shipped?

Medications ship in plain, non-branded packaging with only a shipping label that includes the pharmacy name.

Will this show up on my insurance records?

Accepted Answer

Elenova does not accept insurance. Because you pay directly for your care, your treatment will not be submitted to or recorded by any insurance provider. We will only share your medical information if explicitly required to by law or at your direct request.

Will my medical records appear on my life insurance?

Accepted Answer

We will fulfill all life insurance medical history requests that have been authorized by the patient. If you anticipate a records request, we kindly ask that you give us a heads up in advance so we can make the process as smooth as possible for everyone involved.

Question 14

Can I see a provider without my partner knowing?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Your medical care is yours and we will never contact partners or family members about your visits or treatment without your explicit permission as is required by law. We will only reach out to you through the contact methods you provide. That said, we have found that patients who have the support of those closest to them tend to get the most out of their care.

Do you take insurance?

At present, Elenova Health does not accept insurance. All treatment plans are paid out of pocket directly by the patient. Our pricing is often comparable to what you would pay through insurance after copays and coinsurance, and we will walk through any and all costs transparently before any charges take place. Upon request, we will provide you with the documentation needed to submit a reimbursement claim to your insurance provider. Please note that this documentation will only be provided directly to the patient, and it is the patient's responsibility to submit it to their insurance company and ensure it is handled correctly. Elenova Health plays no role in the reimbursement process beyond providing that documentation.

How much does a consultation cost?

Consultation pricing is listed on our booking page. We keep it transparent so there are no surprises. The consultation fee covers a thorough evaluation, review of any existing records, and a clear plan for next steps — including whether further testing or treatment makes sense for you.

What does treatment typically cost?

Accepted Answer

It depends on what you're being treated for and what medications are involved. PDE5 inhibitors and generic hormone medications are usually inexpensive. GLP-1 weight loss medications and some specialty compounds are more substantial. Lab work has its own pricing. We'll give you a clear cost breakdown before you commit to any plan.

Are there payment plans?

For larger programs — particularly weight management and hormone therapy — we can usually work out monthly billing. Just ask. We'd rather find a payment arrangement that works than have cost be the reason someone doesn't get care.

What if I want to cancel?

Accepted Answer

You can cancel your treatment plan at any time and we will never lock you into a long-term commitment. That said, abruptly stopping certain therapies may carry medical considerations, and your provider will discuss those with you when you submit a cancellation request to ensure you can discontinue safely. We will be honest with you about what each treatment requires long-term, and all cancellation policies will be clearly reviewed with you at the start of service.

Are appointments in person or virtual?

Elenova is a telehealth clinic and all appointments are conducted virtually. Your medical team will always be present on video during your appointments. While most follow-up visits are flexible, we do require that patients join by video for their initial consultation, their annual reassessment, and occasionally when your provider feels a face-to-face conversation would best serve your care.

How do labs work?

We offer two lab options to fit your preference and schedule. At-home lab kits can be mailed to you, are easy to self-administer, and include a prepaid return label to send your sample back to our partnering laboratory. If you prefer to go in person, in-clinic labs are available at any of our partnering laboratories and we will provide you with a list of locations to choose from. Either way, your provider will walk you through your results once they are in.

Where do my medications come from?

Prescriptions are filled by licensed pharmacies. Everything our partnering providers prescribe comes from regulated, FDA-overseen sources, and they never use grey-market, black-market, or untested suppliers.

What if I'm traveling?

Accepted Answer

If you have upcoming travel, please let us know as soon as possible. We request at least 90 days notice so we have enough time to tailor your care and make the necessary arrangements to accommodate you. We will always do our best, but early refills and quantity changes are ultimately at the discretion of the dispensing pharmacy. The sooner we know, the better positioned we are to work with you, your medical team, and the pharmacy to find a solution.

What should I do if my address changes?

Please notify us of any address change as soon as possible. Your prescribed medications are shipped directly to you from the pharmacy, which makes it critical that we always have your current and accurate delivery address on file. This applies to permanent moves as well as extended stays at a second home or a relative's address. Shipments sent to an incorrect address can cause serious delays in your care, may be unrecoverable, and in some cases unreceived medications cannot be refilled.

What happens if I do not receive my package?

If your package has not arrived within 5 business days of your refill request, please first check around your home, with any neighbors, and with any family members who may have received the package on your behalf. If the package is still unaccounted for, contact us immediately. Do not wait. We will open an investigation with the pharmacy and the carrier as quickly as possible. The sooner you notify us, the better our chances of resolving the issue. Please be aware that lost shipments can cause serious delays in your care. In some cases the pharmacy will not issue a replacement, which could leave you without your prescribed medications for an extended period of time, potentially months.

Is ED medication safe if I have other health conditions?

Usually yes, but it depends. Certain medications — particularly nitrates used for chest pain — don't mix safely with PDE5 inhibitors. High blood pressure, heart disease, and some other conditions may affect what's appropriate. That's exactly why we review your full medical history before prescribing anything.

Can TRT cause heart problems?

Recent large studies suggest that appropriately monitored testosterone replacement therapy does not increase cardiovascular risk. That said, hormones affect the whole body, which is why your medical team will perform a comprehensive workup to include medical history, the monitoring of labs, and adjust therapy as needed. Anyone with active heart disease or any other medical concerns requires careful evaluation before starting.

What about side effects from GLP-1 medications?

The most common side effects are gastrointestinal, to include nausea, occasional vomiting or reflux, and constipation. These symptoms may be more pronounced during the first few weeks or after dose increases. Symptoms usually settle as your body adjusts. More serious side effects are rare but can occur, if you are experiencing more severe side effects please let your medical team know as soon as possible. We start at low doses and adjust up to give your body time to adapt.

Will hormone therapy affect my fertility?

Standard TRT can suppress sperm production. If you are trying to preserve fertility or might want children later, your medical team will discuss the use of alternative therapies that may include medications such as enclomiphene to maintain or support natural production. Your medical team will address any fertility concerns before your treatment plan begins, so that all options are on the table from the start.

How often will I need follow-up labs?

Follow-up lab frequency varies depending on your treatment plan. For hormone-based therapies, initial follow-up labs are typically scheduled 6 to 8 weeks after starting treatment to confirm we are hitting target levels and that nothing concerning has changed. Once things stabilize, follow-up is generally every 3 to 6 months. For all other programs, laboratory monitoring may be less frequent and is often only required every 6 to 12 months. Your provider will walk you through the expected schedule before you begin any treatment and may adjust it over time based on how your body is responding.
